NEW MADRID - Mary Cleo Story, 84, died Nov. 11, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born April 22, 1918, in Chaffee, daughter of the late Jim and "Nannie" Smith Stringfellow, she was a member of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston. Before her retirement, she was a factory worker in Chaffee and later at the Chris' Young World and LaPetite Shop.

On Aug. 30, 1941, she married Kenneth O. Story who preceded her in death on March 11, 1987.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Roseann Story of New Madrid; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles E. and Irene Stringfellow of Chaffee; one sister, Opal Coakley of Chaffee; three grandchildren, Ken Story of East Prairie, Teresa Gilliam of Blodgett and Traci Reynolds of Sikeston; and eight great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Larry Davis, pastor of Trinity Gospel Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
