SIKESTON - Thursday's matchup between the undefeated Dexter Bearcats and the Sikeston Bulldogs didn't live up to its billing. In fact, it didn't come close. Paced by a six-RBI outing from first baseman Shay Borders, the Bulldogs thumped Dexter 10-4 at VFW Memorial Park.

BENTON - Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell said that due to manpower considerations, Saturday visiting hours for inmates at the Scott County Jail will be changed, effective May 1. In the past, Saturday visiting hours have been held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will change, with the new visiting hours on Saturdays scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Ferrell said the change may even help some who work until noon on Saturdays and had difficulty making it for the old visiting hours. In addition, it will allow jail personnel to get the noontime meal out of the way prior to visits beginning.
