Ellis Hoffine

SIKESTON - Elbert "Ellis" Hoffine, 70, died Feb. 9, 2005, at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

Born Sept. 18, 1934, in Waterloo, Kan., son of Orpha Taber of Wichita, Kan., and the late Claus Hoffine, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blodgett and veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves.

On March 1, 1994, he married Bonnie Young who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Sue Hoffine of St. Louis and Travis and Kristi Hoffine of Cazenovia, Wis.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Jan McDaniel of Kansas, Diane and Stan Friesen of Buffalo, N.Y., and Kimberly Habben of Omaha, Neb.; one stepson, Jeff Young of Sikeston; three brothers, Ray Hoffine, Homer Hoffine and Jimmy Hoffine; five sisters, Rita Hoffine, Rosemary Hoffine, Ruth Ann Hoffine, Margie Hoffine and Carol Hoffine; and 11 grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday. Randy Bohannon and the Rev. Harold Norton of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Ray Redoer, Dustin Friesen, Mike Henson, Lynell DeWitt, Gary Warner, Jeff York, Doug Hoffine and Jeff Limbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Colton Young, Ashton Young, Shelly Hoffine, Monica Hoffine, Sophia Hoffine, Heidi Friesen, Courtney Hoffine, Kerrigan Hoffine and Brandon Hoffine.
