Howard Adams

MOREHOUSE - Howard L. Adams, 78, died Dec. 13, 2002, at his home.

Born March 10, 1924, at Morehouse, son of the late Joseph Clarence and Ethyl O'Brian Adams, he was employed as a cut-off lumberman at Rowe Furniture for 38 years. He was a member of the First Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse.

On Jan. 20, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., he married Florence Stephens who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Sue Ann Moore of Benton, Ark., Gloria Jean Tucker of Dexter, Lemma Knuckles of Tyler, Texas and Nila Vincent of Carlock, Ill.; one son, Bobby Adams of Oahu, Hawaii; one sister, Phyliss Earnheart of Piedmont; and 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Steve Pyles, pastor of the Lighhouse United Pentecostal Church in Murphysboro, Ill., officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Vent, pastor of the First Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse and the Rev. Jay Emerson, pastor of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Benton, Ark.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
