Charity Chesire

SIKESTON - Charity Lee Acree Cheshire, 80, died July 29, 2005, in Sikeston.

Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Brownsville, Tenn., daughter of the late Willard and Dora Lee Sanders Acree, she was a member of the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church.

In 1973, in Caruthersville, she married Tommy Cheshire who preceded her in death in 2002.

Two daughters, Montia Rose Portwood and Mary Ruth Russell; one son, James T. Russell; and two step-sons, Charles Cheshire and Charles D. Studie, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Timothy Stuart of Caruthersville; two daughters, Betty McKnight of Caruthersville and Sally Corder of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 1 in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial followed in the Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were: Anthony Dale, Charles Studie, Christina Burger, David Novak, Gary Tanner, Anthony J. Long, James Burger and Timothy Stuart.
