Speakout 8/9

Tuesday, August 9, 2005

I always read the court report and I'm amazed at the drivers who do not have liability insurance. A $25 fine, that is cheap insurance. How do they buy a license or do I hit the right key when I said buy? They pay their little fine, get in their car and drive off.

This is to the person who said he didn't like the Hardee's commercials. He said he thought it looked like the guy was trying to have sex with a cow. What the guy is doing is he is shaking the cow. The cow gives milk. Hardee's sells milk shakes. Get it? I agree with him, they are pretty stupid commercials though.

Are there any nuclear bomb fallout shelters in this area? Considering our problems with border security on every corner of this nation I don't think it is unrealistic or paranoid to ask.

I need advice. I have a landlord who will do nothing with this property I am living in. He won't do anything with the inside or the outside. He will do nothing unless he raises my rent. That is ridiculous. This is his house, he should maintain it. We are talking about leaky faucets, broken windows, just everything from the dishwasher, torn up carpeting, it doesn't matter what it is, the man will fix nothing. We didn't do it. It was like this when we moved in here three years ago but we were promised everything but now he will do nothing. What I need to know is do I need to get an attorney or to call code enforcement? What do I need to do? If there is anybody out there with some good advice, please put it in Speakout for me.

This is a very important message that needs to be printed immediately. This message is for all people who are receiving services from the Missouri Department of Social Services. Recently a bill was passed by our Republican governor to stop Medicaid for all people on disabilities unless you meet the federal poverty level of $678 for a single household per month. We lose the only healthcare insurance that we have or will have to pay hundreds of dollars on a spend down per month to continue our healthcare. If you received a letter that you believe this action is wrong, you can request a hearing and your benefits will continue pending the results of the hearing. And you may also request an attorney from legal aid. I have worked for 30 years before becoming disabled. Stop this nonsense, we are not just people who sit on our butts. We are human beings also. We have rights. Next time vote for Democrats. Republicans are only for the rich, not for the poor.

I'm the lady who put the piece in there about the recluse spider bites. I want to make one correction. I'm sure it is hard for you to understand everything that is being said but I don't know how you would put bacon grease on a spider bite. I meant to say was raw bacon. That should do it. Let me know how it works out.
