SIKESTON - Elvis "James" McGhee, 46, died Sept. 24, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Oct. 4, 1956, in Sikeston, son of the late Hurley and Nelda McClaine McGhee, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Sandywood Baptist Church and had worked in the City of Miner Street and Water Maintenance Department.

On Jan. 29, 1994, he married Barbara Overton who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Dustin McGhee of Dexter and Michael Tidwell of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Belinda and Sammie Hise Jr. and Ashley Wilbourn of the home; two brothers, Tommy McGhee of Gates, Tenn., and Leon Holt of Brentwood, Calif.; four sisters, Mable St. Germain of Rhode Island, Betty Finley of Sikeston, Louise Glen of Sycamore, Ill., and Patricia McGhee of Dothan, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Melina Hise, Allison Hise of the home and Cheyanne Tidwell of Seymore.

One brother, Larry McGhee, preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Loyd Latham, pastor of Sandywood Baptist Church, officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted at the Old Bethel Cemetery near Sikeston.
