I read about the lady who is seeking help for a needy person. The lady who was begging for money to help with an operation. If she was working, she should be able to afford the operation and from what I've heard, her husband makes good money. My husband has had two heart surgeries and we had no insurance, no help and I was unable to work. We have to pay ours out by the month until it is paid (and she can too). We had no help whatsoever. We didn't ask other people for money. We had to do without some of our food and medicine and she will too when she can go back to work. Don't beg for help. You can make it on your own.

In defense of the patient, the request was made by someone who is concerned with her situation. The patient did not ask for help.

What happened to Jordan McCollom on KFVS?

He has relocated out of the area.

I am very thankful for Banner Medical Equipment. They came out on a Sunday night late to bring me a home nebulizer (breathing machine) for my son. He was very kind, went over the instructions and was very patient. I thought it was very, very nice of him to bring it out when they did. These people are very nice and I will use them for all my medical equipment needs. I think they have locations in Sikeston, New Madrid and Jackson. They are very good people. Thanks again.

I agree 100 percent with Mike on social responsibility. When does it stop? The more you give the more they expect and it is passed on from generation to generation. Believe me, I know, because I have had people working for me like that. I wish it would stop.

I would like to thank the City of Sikeston for their effort in mosquito control. This is the first town I have ever lived in that even tried.

Regardless of what resolution our church council said it adopts, I would like for the community to know that as a Methodist and member of the church, I believe in the separation of church and state and feel that it is one of the fundamentals our Founding Fathers decided on because they suffered religious persecution and did not want this country. Letting religion into government is what countries like Iraq do. We have numerous references to God in our government documents and on our government icons and that is appropriate to show that we, indeed, are a spiritual nation. But spirituality and religion are two separate things. Religion and government don't mix for a free nation.
