Sharon Powell
CHARLESTON - Sharon Lee Powell, 54, died at 12:35 p.m. Feb. 21, 2005, at her home.
Born Sept. 30, 1950, in East Prairie, daughter of Audie Lee Butler of Bertrand and Elsie Jeanette Frix Shelby of New Madrid, she was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County. A medical transcriptionist for the Ferguson Medical Group in Sikeston and East Prairie for many years, she was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie, the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life.
On May 28, 1968, she married Frank Powell who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to her husband and parents include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Leigh Ann Bone and Lisa and Chuck Simmons of Charleston; one brother, David Butler of Tallahassee, Fla.; one sister, Jeanette George of Montreal; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Singleton; and one son-in-
law, Mark Bone.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Tim Butler, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Stark, Chad Stark, Jeff Davenport, Dr. Steven Douglas, Todd Palmer and Reese Palmer.
