NEW MADRID - F. Wayne "Buddy" DeLisle, 65, died April 23, 2005, surrounded by family at the home of his daughter.

Born Sept. 22, 1939, to the late Wayne and Burdeen DeLisle, he was a graduate of Chaminade Prep Academy in St. Louis and received his bachelor's degree in economics from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. Self-employed for a number of years and retiring in 1993, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of New Madrid and the Knights of Columbus.

Affectionately known as "Big" by family and friends, he stayed busy babysitting and attending ballgames, dance recitals and hunting with his grandchildren. "Big" will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ginger Phillips DeLisle of New Madrid; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Buddy and Joanie DeLisle and Joe DeLisle of Portageville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Steve Kellams of Portageville and Anita and Larry Eby of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren, Mallery, Wayne, Emily and Landon DeLisle, Katie, Valerie and Jon Garrett Kellams and Lauren and Maggie Eby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Louise DeLisle.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Eustachius Church in Portageville.

Burial will follow.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Cooper, Mike Jones, Craig and Lee Phillips, Austin and Jacque DeLisle and Will Hanna.
