Nancy Barnes

BERNIE - Nancy Imogene Barnes, 76, died Sept. 30, 2004, in East Prairie.

Born Oct. 27, 1927, in Carroll County, Tenn., daughter of the late H.F. and Annie Meal Tate Sr., she retired from Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and was of the Baptist belief.

On Oct. 2, 1946, at Corinth, Miss., she married Grady Barnes who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2000.

Survivors include: one son, Brian K. Barnes of Essex; two daughters, Pat Lambert of East Prairie and Dottie Parrish of Dexter; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, H.F. Tate Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Matt Keck.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. David Hardin will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
