SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Cletis Stovall of Sikeston are parents of a girl born Oct. 18.

SIKESTON - The Women's Society of Christian Service of the First United Methodist Church had a workday Wednesday in preparation for the Fall Festival Bazaar to be held Tuesday. Mrs. L.M. Schroff, Mrs. Joseph Wagner, Mrs. Robert Dempster, Mrs. William Proffer and Mrs. E.F. Weidemann spent the day working on articles to sell at the bazaar.

SIKESTON - Mrs. Wanda Mouser, home economic major at Southeast Missouri State College, is doing her student teaching this quarter with Mrs. Bernice Rogers at Matthews High School. While in the area, Miss Mouser is staying at the home of Mrs. C.O. Hawkins.

CHARLESTON - The Mississippi County Salary Commission Monday morning unanimously approved the maximum increase for county officials under the new "pay raise" bill signed Aug. 14 by Gov. John Ashcroft.

NEW MADRID - Funding for a marina will be sought by the city as part of the development of the New Madrid Riverfront.

SIKESTON - Promising to stand as a landmark for the west side community and visitors traveling along Malone Avenue, the ARTS in Every Household mural was unveiled at Roberta Rowe Park on Saturday. The colorful piece was designed by Cape Girardeau artist, Marshall Brown.

SIKESTON - The electrifying march and chant of the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ Drill Team is symbolic of the positive atmosphere at the 100 Black Men Rally on Saturday. Facilitator Louis Wiggins hosted the event for the third year.
