SIKESTON - Benjamin Franklin Chambers, 81, died Aug. 11, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 26, 1924, in Anniston to the late Benjamin Franklin and Emma Pollock Chambers, he was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ and owner and operator of Chambers Electric in Sikeston for many years.

On April 20, 1946, he married Lucille Maxine Newman, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Robin and Carolyn Chambers and Tim and Charline Chambers of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Hartzog of Sikeston; three brothers, Bill Chambers of Charleston and Charles Chambers and Shirley Chambers of Anniston; one sister, Margie Ahlfield of Anniston; and seven grandchildren and their spouses, Trey and Jennifer Hartzog, Ashli and J.J. Steward, Erin and Ben Alcorn and Tyson Chambers of Sikeston, Benjamin Hartzog of Cape Girardeau, Robin and Erika Chambers of California and Zach and Brandi Chambers of New Orleans; and seven great-grandchildren.

One brother, Lester Chambers, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ponder Funeral Home.

Burial will be at a later day at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
