EAST PRAIRIE -- Curtis I. Boyer, 62, died at 6:45 p.m. July 2, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Sept. 21, 1943, in Phoenix, son of the late George T. and Audrey Weems Boyer, he had lived in Phoenix a number of years where he was employed with the Sears Company for 21 years until he retired and moved to East Prairie in November 1989. He then became employed with the East Prairie Nursing Center as a maintenance supervisor and in 1998 began working at the Gates Rubber Company in Charleston. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1967-1969 and was of the Baptist belief.

On Jan. 5, 1963, he married Brenda Nipp who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, William Boyer of Phoenix; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tracy Boyer of Phoenix and Melody and Tim Gardner of Sikeston; four brothers, Jerry Boyer and Dennis Boyer of East Prairie, Larry Boyer of Fredericktown and David Boyer of Paducah, Ky.; three sisters, Gloria Hatherly and Bonnie Lawson of Phoenix and Gayla Loomis of East Prairie; and four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday with Mike Johnson, pastor of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.

Pallbearers will be: Harry Brack, Kenneth Brack, Max Carlisle, Phillip Carlisle, Ray Allgier and Ryan Allgier.
