Your view: Fund-raiser success

Friday, July 22, 2005

The SEMO Harley Owners Group (HOG's) annual Poker Run was held on June 5th of this year and over $5,000 was raised for the Kenny Rogers Children's Center.

On Sunday, June 5 over 300 bikers gathered at Minor's Harley Davidson in Scott City for the poker run. Riders had to get their cards stamped at five of any of the seven sponsoring clubs: J. D.'s Patio Bar in McClure, Ill., Ouida's Horseshoe Tavern in Horseshoe Lake,Ill., City Limits in Charleston, and The Corner Bar in Benton.

A lot of work goes into this event each year and work actually begins in March.

A BIG thanks for all the hard work of the SEMO HOG's, especially Barb Minor and Pat Jenkins, Committee Chairs, Minor's Harley Davidson, Mac's Smokehouse of Cape, music group Slight Return of Sikeston, and everyone who helped make the day a success.
