BassBusters held final tournament of season

Winners from the Bootheel BassBusters final tournament are: Jim Davis (second), Leon Miller (first) and Ty Garrett (third).

LAKE GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their final tournament of the season, a two-day event, on October 21st and 22nd on Lake Guntersville, Alabama.

Leon Miller won the tournament with a two day total of 33 lbs. 3 oz. Ty Garrett was second with 21 lbs. 12 oz. and Jim Davis was third with 21 lbs. 2 oz.

Leon Miller caught the big bass on Friday with a 4 lb. 5 oz. fish while Ty Garrett had the second big bass of the day with a 4 lb. 1 oz. bass.

Jim Davis took home big bass honors on Saturday with a 5 lb. 8 oz. fish and Leon Miller caught the second big bass of 5 lbs. 3 oz.

Leon Miller took home Angler of the Year honors for 2005 with 1,682 points. Leven Cox was second with 1,230 points and Mike Estes was third with 1,145 points.

The club will begin preparations for the 2006 tournament season with a meeting in January.

Camaraderie and competition are the hallmarks of the BassBusters and owning a boat is not required for membership.
