DEXTER -- Richard "Red" Arnold, 64, died June 11, 2005, at the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Aug. 6, 1940, in Christopher, Ill., son of the late Hobert Allen and Severina Corso Arnold, he lived in Illinois until moving to Dexter 27 years ago. A veteran of the U.S. Army who served two years during the Vietnam War, he was a retired farmer and of the Pentecostal belief.

Survivors include: three children he helped raise, Randy Orton, Tina Davis and Shannon Noall of Dexter; one brother, Roy Arnold of Golconda, Ill.; two sisters, Gracie Lane of Goreville, Ill., and Mary Ann Schuchardt of Simpson, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and a special friend of 27 years, Lillian Orton of Dexter.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time at 10:30 a.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Paul Seegraves of Williamsville will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with full military honors to be provided by the Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team.
