Gladys Hale

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Gladys Hale, 95, formerly of Mississippi County, Mo., died at 1:24 a.m. March 16, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.

Born Dec. 1, 1910, in the Dogwood community near East Prairie, to the late Arch and Josephine L. Ponder Hale, she lived in Phoenix since 1950 moving from North Carolina, was a retired accountant and was of the Methodist belief.

Survivors include: one niece, Pamela Hale Maddox of Cape Girardeau; one nephew, Robert J. Hale of Villisca, Iowa; and one uncle, P.J. Ponder of Sikeston.

Two brothers, Edwin F. "Speedy" Hale and Robert Willard Hale; and one sister, Marie Boutelle preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Dan Usher officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
