MOUNDS, Ill. -- Edna E. Boyd, 88, died Jan. 24, 2006, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of the late Wiley M. and Mary Alice Lewis Epperson, she was a homemaker and member of Union Church in Villa Ridge.

On Sept. 5, 1943, in Sikeston, she married Walker T. Boyd, who preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1979.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Sr. and Linda Boyd of Sikeston; two grandchildren and spouses, Valerie and John Bollinger of Sikeston and Edward Jr. and Amy Boyd of Mounds; one great-grandchild, Susan Boyd; one special nephew, John Epperson Jr. of Park Hills, Mo; and one special great-nephew, John William Epperson III of Park Hills.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. Friday until time for services at 11 a.m. at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Ill., with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.

Burial will be in the Mounds City National Cemetery.
