SIKESTON -- Motell B. Smith, 89, died March 8, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Jan. 31, 1919, in New Madrid County, to the late Spurlin and Birdie Duke Beck Sr., she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston.

On May 13, 1941, she married Roland Smith who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1992.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Lenzie Beck, Walter Beck, Woodrow Beck and Billy Bob Beck; and three sisters, Lillie Shelby, Lorene Beck and Charlene Humphrey.

Survivors include: two sons, William Beck Smith of Sikeston and Clifford Smith of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Sara Azbun of Kennett; two brothers, Spurlin Beck Jr. of Sikeston and Joe Beck of Okeechobee, Fla.; two sisters, Thelma McDonald and Jewel Harbor of Sikeston; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-

grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Dolan Rogers, pastor of the Bertrand Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
