Grover Caldwell

DEXTER - Grover Alvin Caldwell, 84, died Nov. 21, 2005, in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter.

Born March 21, 1921, at Puxico, son of the late Ova A. and Orpha L. Carter Caldwell, he was a member of the Duck Creek Baptist Church and a carpenter for many years.

On Sept. 7, 1940, at Puxico, he married Sylvia M. Hyten, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Lester Harold Caldwell of Wappapello; two brothers, Naman A. Caldwell of Puxico and J. Eugene Caldwell of Caseyville, Ill.; one sister, Maxine Choat of Dexter; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Chester Carroll Caldwell and Jimmie Alvin Caldwell; one brother, Delmar L. Caldwell; and one sister, Audrey Stuart.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Dean Medlin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery.
