DOGWOOD - Elvin D. "Jack" Phillips, 92, died at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 21, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born March 29, 1913, in Dogwood, son of the late Thomas M. and Bernettia Ann Johnson Phillips, he retired from General Motors in Detroit and returned to Dogwood where he was a school bus driver for the R-2 School District and member of the Dogwood United Methodist Church.

On July 9, 1938, in Whiting, he married Zora Pearl Douglas, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Harold Ray and Gracie Phillips of Swartz Creek, Mich.; one brother, Joe Phillips of Sonora, Calif.; five sisters, Mary Douglas of Gray Lake, Mich., Christine Hackett of Burton, Mich., Winnie Stahl of Florissant, Martha Freidwald of Creve Couer and Shirley Wagner of Sikeston; and four grandchildren, six great-

grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James R. Phillips, Harold Phillips and Marion Phillips; and three sisters, Ellen Nickell, Betty Taylor and Naomi Humphreys.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Harold Norton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Buddy Russell, Tim Wagner, Jimmy Phillips, Jason Phillips, Bill Wilson and Scott Sutton.
