Wet roads play part in head-on crash Thursday

SIKESTON -- Two Sikeston residents were injured in a head-on collision Thursday morning in Scott County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7 a.m. on Missouri Highway HH, one-tenth a mile west of Missouri Highway H, the accident occurred as westbound motorist Machelle Redmond, 37, of Sikeston, lost control of her vehicle on wet pavement and the struck the vehicle driven by Roger D. Jenkins, 47, of Sikeston, head-on. Redmond sustained serious injuries and was air evacuated to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Jenkins received moderate injuries and was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
