DUDLEY - Charles L. Kerley, 74, died at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 26, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 27, 1932, in Bragg City, to the late Charles E. and Rudie Marie Dodd Kerley, he had been a factory worker, was a member of the Brown General Baptist Church in Puxico and a U.S. Army veteran.

In June 1981, he married Betty J. Ross who preceded him in death.

One son, Larry Kerley, and three brothers also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: four sons, Wayne Kerley of the state of Illinois, John Kerley of Ellington, Billy McGhee of Ellsinore and Eddie Kerley of Dudley; four daughters, June Ann Kerley of Ellington, Eva McCoy of Dexter, Charla Abernathy of Bernie and Sue Kerley of Dudley; three sisters, Peggy McEnerney of Bloomfield, Alberta Shelton of West Memphis, Ark., and Debbie Harvey of Chicago; and 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. John Buttry of the Brown General Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Barber, Will Wright, George McEnerney, Stephen Seabaugh, Billy McGhee and Doug Woolard.
