Jesus said, When you do unto the least of thee, you have done unto me. That means we need to go out into our own area, not overseas and other countries. We need to look around in our own area. There are hungry people and people that's in need in our little town of Sikeston and surrounding areas. That's what that means according to God's book. We need to help take care of people that are in need in our area.

I would like to speak out in regards to the article today about Grandpa still working. Well, I just got this to say. Whoever the idiot was, he needs to try to think back that one day he will a grandpa, and he will be working for some reason or another. Circumstances alters all things. You that are smashing the older people, you need to wake up. You are getting there everyday of your life.

I agree 100 percent with the caller in Tuesday's Standard Democrat about the boys riding lawn mowers in New Madrid. But this time they were on the levee riding next to the Mississippi River, going up and down as fast as they could. They could have very easily tipped over, tipped into the river. There was no adult supervision in sight.

This is for all the dads that say they don't get to spend enough time with their kids. I remember reading an article in the paper awhile ago. But I know a lot of single dads, when they get them they don't do anything with them. They ignore them and push them off on their grandmas or whoever else is there to take their place. But yet they want to gripe because they never get to see them. Well dads, wake up. Spend time with your kids when you have them on the weekends. Maybe they might want to see you more.

I just wondered if somebody has a recipe that I used to have and would like to try again. There used to be a recipe on the Hi-Ho cracker box for apple pie. And there wasn't even an apple around it, but it tasted just like apple pie. You couldn't even tell it was made without apples. If anybody happens to have that recipe, if you would put your number in SpeakOut, I will call you.

Sunshine Hi-Ho Apple pie: 2 cups cold water, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tsp. cream of tartar, 24 crackers. Bring sugar, cream of tartar and water to rolling boil. Add crackers and boil 2 minutes. Do not stir. Add 1 tsp cinnamon. Put in unbaked pie shell and bake until brown at 350 degrees.

My trash was picked up this morning on time. I appreciate that. As I was driving down the road, it was like 9:15, 9:20, I saw the young man take my trash and put it in the truck. And then he took my trash can and tried to play basketball with it. It went flying across the yard and busted because of this. I don't appreciate this. I voted so these people could have a raise, they deserve it. But my poor old trash can does not need to be used for a basketball. I wish you would have a talk with these young men about this.
