Shankle - Duenne

SIKESTON -- B.J. Shankle and Joe Duenne were united in marriage Aug. 5, 2006, at Chapel in the Woods at Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. The couples' daughter, Connor Dugan, stood with her parents for the reading of the vows.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Vanessa Shankle of East Prairie and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Shankle of Charleston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shankle of Charleston and Mrs. Rebecca Sisk of Bertrand.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Duenne of Charleston. He is the grandson of Mrs. Henry Duenne Jr. of Charleston and the late Henry Duenne, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hulshof.

Attending the ceremony were the couple's parents; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Long of Bertrand with Dylan, Toree and Ashton; Brian Jones and Kristen Shankle of Dogwood with Madeline and Taylor Jones; Garrett Shankle of Charleston; and Richard Archie of East Prairie.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to the music of "Wind Beneath My Wings" in honor of the late Keith Nally, uncle of the bride. A reception was held Aug. 12 at the Charleston Country Club and was hosted by the couple's parents.

A bridal shower was held Aug. 19 at St. Henry School in Charleston and was hosted by Lisa Fitzgerald, Tiffiny Shankle, Misty Long, Kristen Shankle, Adrienne Pickett and Kristine Sanders.

The new Mrs. Duenne is a 1997 graduate of Kelly High School and is employed with Bootheel Tractor Parts in East Prairie. Duenne is a 1990 graduate of Charleston High School and is employed with Fitzgerald Marine and Repair.

The couple is making their home in Charleston.
