My comment is about the people in Sikeston wanting or not wanting a skate park. Has the city council and area Chamber of Commerce lost their minds? Skate parks are no good for any town they've been in. I would rather see these parents that are so intent on getting this skate park to teach their skateboarders more on personal hygiene, such as showers and washing their hair and manners in a public place. Should they do that and get cooperation. Or have a public poll of the citizens of Sikeston and ask if they want a skate board park.

My comment is of all the things in Sikeston that are money could go toward, a skate park is way down on the bottom of the list.

I would like to know if there is someone out there who can make roses and rosebuds out of material. Would you please put your number in SpeakOut if you can do this. I will call you back.

The old City Park was recently used for a celebration. When we arrived there, the pavilion was a mess, cobwebs everywhere and leaves and dust. I feel when a park is rented out to the citizens, it should have been cleaned the day before. It took us about 2-3 hours to clean this up before our guests arrived. Who will take care of this? A former citizen of Sikeston.

First of all, anyone who has a problem with the park should contact Jiggs Moore directly at 472-3775. Not knowing when the event was, it was likely on a weekend, the shelter could have been cleaned up the day before and a user then left it in the mess it was in. That park is cleaned up twice a week, including the restrooms. Park crews empty the trash barrels weekly. When shelter permits are issued a letter is included encouraging the user to clean up after themselves.

To me, it's pretty obvious that every conservative antigay extremist is gay. If you're not gay, you don't sit around obsessing over gay sex. If you sit around obsessing about gay sex, then you're gay. It's that simple. If they came out of the closet once and for all, they'd be much happier, and so would we.

I'm calling about the dogs they have been referring to in SpeakOut on the heavily traveled road. It's the cream colored lab, correct? It's in about a 6 by 6 holding pen out in the middle of the blazing sun. They now have put a little tarp over one edge of it. They have a nice big home. They could go down to Lowe's. They sell either fencing or at least a big enough pen that the dog could exercise in. That is a drop in a bucket. If they could go to other parts of town and see the situation the dogs live in they wouldn't be able to sleep nights. This one is just so visible. It's really sad.
