CHICAGO -- Isaiah Kennedy Shannon, 44, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died at 10:30 a.m. May 26, 2007, in Chicago.

Born June 27, 1962, in Sikeston, son of the late Willie C. and Wycie Carpenter Shannon Sr., he was a contract worker for the Chicago Tribune.

Survivors include: one son, Jonathan Williams of Kankakee; seven brothers, James Shannon, Richard Shannon and Thomas Shannon of Chicago, Roy Shannon and Michael Shannon of Carbondale, Clifford Shannon and Willie Shannon Jr. of Sikeston; six sisters, Ocie Bonds, Anita Perez, Barbara Shannon and Adrienne Shannon of Carbondale, Maxine Coleman of Las Vegas and Carolyn Shannon of Chicago; three half brothers, Donald Pettis and Jimmy Pettis of St. Louis and Jerry Pettis of Sikeston; and three half sisters, Bernice Clark, Beverly Pettis and Vonda Pettis of Kansas City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Williams; and one sister, Ollie Shannon Rodriguez.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gatlin Funeral Home, 103rd and Halsted streets, in Chicago.

Burial will follow in the 119th Street Cemetery at Chicago.
