Lena Matthews

SIKESTON - Lena Matthews, 97, died at 2 a.m. June 15, 2007, at the Clearview Nursing Center.

Born March 10, 1910, in Sikeston, to the late John A. and Annie Matthews, she had lived all her life in Sikeston. She worked at the Scott County Milling Company until retiring at the age of 70.

Survivors include: six nephews, Lee O. Matthews, Donald F. Matthews, John A. Matthews, Robert Dye, John R. Ensor and Fred E. Matthews Jr.; two nieces, Joan E. Cowell and Mary Helen Schnittger; and 12 great-nephews and eight great-

nieces.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home. Graveside rites will then follow at 1 p.m. at the Sikeston City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her great-nephews: Glen A. Matthews III, David Matthews, Charlie Dye, John Ensor Jr., Paul Ensor and Jamie Cowell.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great-nephews: Drew Matthews, Scott Matthews, Thomas Matthews, Charles H. Matthews, Fred E. Matthews III and Jim Matthews.
