CHARLESTON - Shirley Ann Shankle Ivie, 68, died at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 2, 2007, at her home.

Born May 22, 1939, in Charleston, to the late Rex Martin and Ruby May English Shankle, she had lived her entire life in Charleston where she was a member of the Church of Christ. She had been employed with Jakel Manufacturing for five years until her retirement.

On Sept. 25, 1956, she married Walter Herman who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2006.

One son, Rickey Lee Ivie, preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2005.

Survivors include: one son, Larry Ivie of Diehlstadt; one daughter, Debbie Ivie of Charleston; two brothers, Bill Shankle of Charleston and Eddie Shankle of Bertrand; two sisters, Linda Moore of East Prairie and Betty Ivie of Diehlstadt; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Bill Bradley, minister of the Morley Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Tommy Shankle, Kenneth Shankle, James Shankle, David Brashear, Trey Drury and Tony Childers.
