Call 471-6636

I guess all you people griping about us old people working and not retiring, I guess your kids are 18 now and you can't draw welfare anymore. So you have to find a job. Good luck to you.

I'd like to speak out about the skate park they are wanting to put in Sikeston. I think the people need to get together and tell them it needs to be put at the Complex instead of Central Park. Because of the traffic flow, it would be much better if they put it at the Complex. I would like other people to speak out on this, too.

I'm calling in about these crazy young people calling in talking about them spending "our money." The old people are spending their own Social Security check, not the silly young people's. And the reason you will not have any Social Security is because you won't work and pay any Social Security in. You have to pay it in to draw it out. The old people certainly aren't drawing one dime of your Social Security. I am 77 years old and have worked all my life, and still do. My Social Security check will not pay all my bills. I don't have a choice, but to work. I hope before I die I can just retire for one year. So many, many young people do not work at all. It is not right that the old people are spending you young people's Social Security. We spend our own Social Security. What do you want us to do, turn our check back into the bank for you? I feel sorry for you punks. You are so ignorant!

This is about the person who called in about the little dog, outside with no food and water. It's as much as a crime watching the little dog suffer as it is for the person who's doing the mistreatment. Sikeston has an excellent Animal Control Division. They take these issues very seriously. They can't be everywhere all the time. Please, if you haven't done it already, please report this. Don't watch this little dog suffer. Animal Control's number is 471-6274. Please give them a call and put this little pup out of it's misery.

A big thank-you to the Rent-A-Center for donating a washer and dryer to the Humane Society. This is what community giving is all about. If people would watch Animal Planet on Channel 61, I believe there would be more donations.

I just heard on the 10 o'clock news that they found people dead on account of heat exhaustion in their homes in St. Louis. This is while Governor Blunt was down here in Cape worrying about stuff that was the least of people's worries. He needs to take care of the old people and not worry about the college and all this other stuff that's going on. I think older people, their health and insurance, is more important than what these young people are. Let them worry about what they need, because the older people did years ago.

This is to the man who stole two of my Boxer puppies out of my yard, or anyone who might know him. I live in a small town just a few miles from Sikeston. On Aug. 10 between 11:00 and 1:00, a thin man with a small beard, driving a maroon Ford extended cab truck, which has a square body style, roamed the neighborhood for over an hour, and eventually stole the puppies. One is white, she's a girl. She has two black dots on her left ear and one black dot in the corner of her eye, which looks like a tear in her eye. This is my kids' puppy. The other puppy was fawn with a black mask. He has one small white streak down his nose and white on his chest. They are two months old. I hand fed these puppies several weeks before they were weaned. I am very close to them. It saddens my heart that someone can just walk up into your yard in the middle of the day and just snatch these puppies. What's next? If you are the person that stole them, or someone who recently acquired puppies of this description, please give me a call at 931-4736.
