Mack currently sixth in MARS point standings

BENTON?-- Joey Mack and the Mack Racing, Inc. team enjoyed a light Dirt Late Model schedule during the month of May, as the #97m team chose to compete in only four events with one show being rained out.

On May 5-6, Joey stayed in the Show-Me State of Missouri to compete in a pair of $3,000 to win Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) events at I-44 and Monett. After a solid eighth place performance at the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon on Saturday, May 5, Joey wound up fourteenth in the race at the Monett Speedway in Monett the following evening. The Benton native is currently tied for sixth in the latest version of the MARS point standings heading into their next event.

Following a rain-out at the 67 (AR) Speedway on Friday night, May 11, the action turned to the Southwest Arkansas Speedway in Murfreesboro, Arkansas on May 12.

Joey passed several cars in the opening laps of the $2,000 to win race, only to get caught up in a wreck.

After service from his pit crew, he returned to the track and wound up fifteenth in the final rundown of the third MSRA event of the season. Joey is now second behind Jeff Floyd in the current version of the MSRA point standings following the Murfreesboro show.

The month of June will prove to be a pivotal one for the #97m team, as they will have to choose between following the MARS circuit or the MSRA schedule full-

time for the rest of the season. The two series schedules cross paths on June 16, so the decision will need to be made by that date. Until then, Joey will be in action at the following venues:

June 8 | Poinsett County (AR) Speedway, MSRA | $1,500 to win

June 9 | Poplar Bluff (MO) Speedway, MSRA | $2,000 to win
