Speakout 8/7

This is in regard to whoever put the article in SpeakOut about the hummingbirds. There are a few around, but I haven't seen any. I have a friend who saw one up really close.

I am the one that wrote the comment about Free ride. The last sentence was supposed to say ACLU and NAACP and it has nothing to do with race. It has to do with both organizations fighting against trying to make people work that are able. Both organizations feel you are stepping on one's rights if you make them work or talk about birth control and welfare. I apologize if anyone thought this was racist. It was never intended to be about race. This was about using the Bible against the Governor because he was making Medicaid cuts. I was trying to make the point that God helps those who help themselves. I should have known that someone would make something ugly out of it.

Mart here in Sikeston. He was kind enough to call and respond about fixing my weed eater. I really appreciate it and everybody go give him business, he deserves it. He's a very giving man and very thoughtful. And thanks so much, again.

Why does the city of East Prairie bother to have aldermen? When you call to talk to one of them, they're never at home or they never return your calls.

I would just like to let the city of Matthews know they need to go check their park. I took my 2-year-old daughter down to the park today. On the seesaw it had very vulgar language, someone saying they had sex there on the seesaw, the slides, the merry-go-round, on the picnic tables. They need to do something about this. I don't want my 2-year-old daughter seeing vulgar language like that or going and playing on equipment that people had sex on. I'd just like to let Matthews know they needed to go check on their playground.

This is in response to the Pooh on Potter. Kids need to have an imagination and if you would read the books you would see there is a deeper story there than just witchcraft. And as for you being a Christian, the word freakin' is just as bad as the "f" word. So maybe you need to read up on the Bible, too.

I wish when they put the baseball pictures in the paper, they would put the names in the order they are standing so you would know who's who.

I wish the person that drives the gray van, that is Kathleen Manor a lot would stop talking on the sidewalk. You cannot get by the van unless you get into the road and go in somebody's yard if you are walking on the sidewalk. I must walk by there two times a day and I have to get in the road to get by.
