The Heartland Americans

CHAFFEE -- The Heartland Americans are a girls 10-and-under fastpitch softball traveling team comprised of girls all across the Heartland. The Americans are the first 10-and-under traveling team to form in this area. The Americans recently took first place in a National Softball Association qualifier that was held in June at Cape Girardeau.

The Americans also took first place in the state tournament held in Fenton, qualifying the Americans a birth in the NSA World Series. The Americans went undefeated through the qualifier and state tournament to advance to the series.

The NSA World Series will be held in Peoria, Ill. from July 23-30. The girls have been working hard to raise the necessary monies for the trip. The team has held raffles, donut sales and candle sales as well as other projects to raise money for the trip.

If you would like to help out the Heartland Americans with a donation, send a check payable to the Heartland Americans c/o Kevin Estes, 312 S. 3rd, Chaffee, Mo. 63740.
