Speakout 4/3

If East Prairie has an ordinance for dogs that run loose, why don't they issue tickets for people who let their dogs out at night and do something about it?

Please be aware when you buy calling cards. I bought one the other day. It cost $18 and it was supposed to have 300 minutes on it. I made a couple of phone calls on it and they cut me down to 29 minutes on the card. When I took it back to the store, they wouldn't refund my money. They tried to tell me it still had 13 minutes on it and I told her to throw it in the trash. This is an ATT plus calling card. I called the company, I wasted my time. So when you buy a calling card, be sure to be aware that these cards might be messed up.

I've been reading comments regarding the coffee incident that took place in a local church sanctuary. The coffee was intended to be offered to a disabled, grieving woman prior to a funeral service. While I agree that people often disrespect the sanctuary, the lady who tried to bring the coffee to the other lady was acting out of concern and compassion for another person. I think that would be considered a Christian act of kindness. I don't see how her motive could be interpreted as an intentional attempt to disrespect the church. It was one cup of coffee, so get over it. By the way, if people in that congregation are in the habit of bringing drinks into the sanctuary as well as snacks and playing games on cell phones, I'd say that church has bigger problems than just one woman trying to comfort another with a cup of coffee.

Tuesday afternoon between 5:30 and 6:00, I'd really like to thank the person who ran over my little golden schnauzer. What goes around comes around. They could have at least let us know instead of our children finding it and taking it to heart. If they would monitor this road down here on Ingram Street, they would go a lot slower. There's no sense in going that fast and killing a little dog.
