SIKESTON - William "The Refrigerator" Perry will visit Sikeston Tuesday to visit with Sikeston athletes and children, who hope to one day be athletes.

Perry's visit is courtesy of Brown Shoe Company and their vendor, BAF.

Following Perry's tour of the local Brown Shoe Company where he will receive a key to the city from Mayor Mike Marshall, he will have lunch at Lambert's Cafe from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The public is invited and Lambert's will donate a portion of the proceeds from lunch to the Kenny Rogers Children's Center.

From 2:30-3 p.m. Perry will tour the KRCC, where the public will again have the opportunity to meet the former NFL Rookie of the Year and Super Bowl XX star.

Although the following events are not open to the public, Perry will also spend time with Sikeston High School athletes and youngsters attending the YMCA After-School Program.

Perry gained notoriety following his draft by the Chicago Bears in 1985 as a defensive lineman. In his first year of his nine-year NFL career, Perry not only helped on the defense but was called in to play on the offense in short-yardage situations.
