SIKESTON - A tip from Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of a Mississippi County man for a Sikeston burglary.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety detectives arrested Lindsey Cross, 46, on Friday in Mississippi County. Cross is charged with the March 2 burglary at Fas Gas.

According to Department of Public Safety Director Drew Juden, the arrest came after a tip came into Crime Stoppers. The caller identified the suspect as Cross that after seeing the video on a local television station news broadcast Thursday night. After comparing some photos of Cross to the video, detectives agreed it was indeed Cross, Juden said.

Cross, who was already wanted on a Scott County warrant for drug distribution, was sought in several locations in Sikeston, where detectives learned Cross was apparently staying at a residence in Wyatt.

Mississippi County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Cross at the residence in Wyatt. Cross was then turned over to Sikeston detectives who brought him back to continue with the investigation.

Scott County Prosecutor Paul Boyd has charged Cross with second degree burglary and felony stealing. He is currently being held under $50,000 cash bond and as of press time today remains in custody at DPS awaiting transfer to Scott County.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests may be forthcoming, Juden stated in a news release.

Anyone with information concerning this investigation is asked to contact DPS at either 471-1500 Crime Stoppers or 471-6200. All information can be kept confidential
