Carl Downing

ST. LOUIS -- Carl Wayne Downing, 61, died Dec. 13, 2006, at the KFJ Manor in University City.

Born July 30, 1945, in Kennett, son of Odessa Downing of Kennett and the late Carl W. Downing, he had lived in St. Louis most of his life. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps, from which he retired, and was of the Baptist belief.

One sister, Barbara Downing, also preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Lester Gene Downing of Fults, Ill.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
