Esther Callison

VANDUSER - Esther Irene Callison, 98, died Feb. 9, 2007, at her home in Vanduser.

Born July 28, 1908, in Bernie, daughter of the late Claude and Maude Mae Overturf Lindsey, she had worked for Black's Grocery in Vanduser before retiring.

On April 5, 1924, she married Arvil Callison, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1955.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Chester Lindsey, Robert Lindsey, Bremon Lindsey, Willis Owens, Robert Owens and Rube Owens; and one sister, Naomi Owens Harns.

Survivors include: one brother, Roy Owens of Vanduser; one sister, Thelma Harmon of Portageville; and many nieces and nephews, including her special nephew, Gary Owens of Vanduser.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Dan Richardson of the Church of Christ in Vanduser will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
