NEW MADRID -- Robert Abraham "Junebug" Taylor, 66, died March 7, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 7, 1941 in Armorel, Ark., to the late Robert Taylor and Essie Bruce Scott, he was a member of and served as a deacon for the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid.

On March 11, 1978, in New Madrid, he married Lillie Hicks Taylor who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Gary Taylor of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Annie Mae Sanglton and Dorothy Ann and Arthur Session Sr. of Jefferson City; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Chuck and Ann Taylor, James "J.T." and Gerry Taylor and Robert and Debbie Taylor of Los Angeles and Donald Taylor and Timothy "Tim" and Dorothy Taylor of Sacramento; eight sisters and four brothers-in-law, May Johnson, Dorothy Cobb, Marilyn Bradford Evans and Barbara and Frank Davie of Los Angeles, Bernice Scott of New Madrid, Brenda and Isaac Wheeler of Bernie, Janet Taylor and Mike Hall of Houston and Mary and Leonard Smart of Elkhart, Ind.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One brother, Jimmie Scott; an infant daughter, Bridgette Ann Taylor; and one sister, Birdie Smith, preceded him in death.

Visitation is from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Services will then begin at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in New Madrid with the Rev. Leotis Akins officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
