SIKESTON -- Here are the results from the Sikeston Drag Strip from Saturday.

Junior Dragster Class

1st Place - Taylor Bowman Cape Girardeau, MO DI - 7.57 ET - 7.579 MPH - 86.67 RT - .503

2nd Place - Cody Wiggins Kevil KY DI - 7.98 ET - 7.952 MPH - 82.56 RT - .474

The Junior Dragster final featured one of the most dominant pairs of drivers in the class. For the past several years,

Cody and Taylor have made it a point to be the best drivers in the Junior Dragster class. On Saturday night, they proved that they still are capable of doing so.

This race was set up to be a tough one, as both drivers were hammering the tree consistently all night. Cody left first with almost a half-second of spot. However, before the race could get going, Cody went red.

Taylor launched hard with a nearly perfect .503 light and at the finish line was only .009 off his dial in, which is only .012 from a perfect run.

These youngsters are going to be tough when they get in a big car, that's for sure. Congratulations to Taylor Bowman on his Junior Dragster Class victory.

Trophy Class

1st Place - Gabe Ames Dongola, IL DI - 8.72 ET - 8.742 MPH - 69.56 RT - .506

2nd Place - Nathan Revelle Patton, MO DI - 10.20 ET - 10.214 MPH - 68.39 RT - .563

For the first time in a while, the Trophy class did not feature Kyle Allardin or Jake Overstreet. This final featured a former Trophy winner, Gabe Ames, and a relative newcomer to the action, Nathan Revelle.

This was surely going to be a good race. Gabe gave up close to one and a half seconds worth of spot to Nathan in the Camaro. Nathan cut a good light, but when Gabe's side of the tree came down, he bettered Nathan with a .506 light.

Now we were sure this one was going to be close. Gabe motored his Mustang down the track and caught Nathan at the far end to take the victory. Congratulations to Gabe Ames on his Trophy Class victory.

ET Class

1st Place - Blake Jones Bertrand, MO DI - 7.71 ET - 7.759 MPH - 87.20 RT - .529

2nd Place - Ronnie Overstreet Hard Money, KY DI - 8.03 ET - 8.022 MPH - 86.53 RT - .499

The ET Final was up next with a pair of hot drivers. Well, granted it was over 100 degrees, but I'm talking about these guys have been on a roll lately. Ronnie Overstreet has been moving up in the points standings going rounds as of late.

The same can be said for Blake Jones, who has been in three straight finals in the ET Class. Talk about a late season surge in the points. Blake lost in the finals last weekend to Daniel Pharris, could he redeem himself in this race? Ronnie left first, by only a few tenths of a second. As the light came down, Ronnie launched the Pooh Bear card hard....but he went red by the slimmest margin. With the red light, Blake was able to go down track for the win. Congratulations to Blake Jones on his ET Class victory.

Pro Class

1st Place -Ronnie Overstreet Hard Money, KY DI - 8.01 ET - 8.020 MPH - 84.42 RT - .565

2nd Place - Chuck Gurley Carbondale, IL DI - 6.45 ET - 6.484 MPH - 105.58 RT - .610

As the night drew to a conclusion, the Pro Final featured an Overstreet for the second consecutive week. This week, Ronnie appeared in his second final of the night. His opponent was Chuck Gurley, who is one of the toughest drivers in the Pro Class on any given night. This was going to be yet another tough final race.

Ronnie got the spot and launched first, heading for the finish line. Chuck left second and was unable to better Ronnie's light. At the far end, this one looked close, but when the cars crossed, Ronnie was able to take the win light and quickly avenge his first final loss from earlier in the evening. Congratulations to Ronnie Overstreet on his Pro Class victory.

Super Pro Class

1st Place - Gary Pigg Doniphan, MO DI - 6.10 ET - 6.116 MPH - 112.27 RT - .504

2nd Place - Rob Sample Scott City, MO DI - 5.04 ET - 5.047 MPH - 138.03 RT - .497

As the night came to a close, our final race featured Gary Pigg and Rob Sample. For Gary, this race had an emotional attachment, as he was racing in memory of his father-in-law, Art Tipton, who passed away the previous day, July 28th.

Standing in his way of winning one for Art was Rob Sample, a tough driver who always finished up well in the points and can be the toughest driver in the class on any night. Gary got the spot by over a second and cut a very tough, nearly perfect .504 light.

When Rob's tree came down, he revved up and launched hard, only go to red by a slim margin, allowing Gary to take the victory in memory of his father in law Art. "This one's for Art." Congratulations to Gary Pigg on his Super Pro Class victory.

Thanks to all that came out to race and watch at the Sikeston Drag Strip. Don't forget, Test n Tune is now on Friday nights from 6pm until 10 p.m. Also, you can still sign up for the points race at the ticket booth on the pit side.
