SIKESTON -- Everett Eugene Miller, 76, died Oct. 28, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born March 11, 1932, in Blodgett, Missouri, son of the late Henry Miller and Anna Whitt Miller Stanley. He was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church for many years, having changed his attendance to First Assembly of God. He also attended First United Pentecostal Church and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

He had worked at International Shoe Company for 14 years, was a crossing guard at the Sikeston Middle School, mowed the lawn for Mitchell Insurance Company and worked for A&B Oil Company. His latest job was working as a custodian for the Social Security Administration in Sikeston.

On July 3, 1954, he married Rita Ruth Stucker who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Tim Bell and Lana and Chris Deen of Sikeston and Jeannie and Brian Crain of Florissant; one brother, Merrill Miller of Sikeston; two sisters, Henrietta Foster of Vanduser and Thelma Shipp of Sikeston; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Ryan, Michael Carnell, Christopher Carnell, Timothy Bell, Ashley Crain, Dustin Deen and Justin Deen; and one great-grandson, Dakota Ryan.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. Jerry Adams, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, and Richard Whitman, pastor of First United Pentecostal Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Tim Bell, Brian Crain, Chris Deen, Brad Ryan, Christopher Carnell, David Carnell, Sonny Strickland, and Timmy Bell.

Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Carnell.
