Miner man jailed for possession of a controlled substance

BENTON -- A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Miner man for possession of a controlled substance.

According to a Monday news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, Deputy Brant Pratt saw Trenton Abernathy, 30, of Miner driving in the City of Miner. Upon checking on Abernathy's driving status and confirming that his driving privilege was suspended, Pratt contacted Abernathy.
