The Charleston Department of Public Works is working on a list of improvements to the softball field at A.D. Simpson Park on South Main in Charleston. Dave Teeters, Public Works director, pictured in the white shirt with skilled workers from the public works department, said improvements include a new backstop and dugouts, new fencing and new electronic controls for the field. As there are no fall softball leagues that use the field, the department has plenty of time to complete the project before the next season begins in the spring.
