Interstate wreck injures three

Officers respond to a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Scott County. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:05 a.m. on Interstate 55 at the 71.4 mile marker. Northbound motorist Julie E. Ward, 49, of Poplar Bluff was passing a northbound vehicle driven by Mary K. Roth, 66, of Mountain View when Ward lost control, struck Roth's vehicle and came to a rest in the median. Ward sustained serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Her passenger, Misty A. Logston, 30, of Poplar Bluff received moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center. Roth received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
