Getting ready for school

Lilbourn kindergarten teacher Amy McElveen was busy preparing her new classroom which is part of the classroom addition recently completed at the Lilbourn Elementary School. McElveen received some expert advice on decorating the bulletin board in her new classroom from her 5-year-old son, Sawyer, who will be starting kindergarten this fall. In addition to the brightly decorated bulletin board, the new classrooms offer much more room, McElveen said and will include a writing center, listening center, art area and computers for the students when they begin classes on Aug. 13.
