MRC hears from local officials

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- When it comes to the Mississippi River, the top concerns for local officials this year are flood control and harbor maintenance.

Concerns about these issues were presented to Mississippi River Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials Monday during a public meeting held aboard the MRC's motor vessel "Mississippi" as part of the MRC's annual low-water inspection trip down the Mississippi River.
