Kelly girls roll to easy victory on Wednesday
Lady Hawks down Caruthersville
BENTON -- The Kelly Lady Hawks wasted little time establishing an early lead against the visiting Caruthersville Lady Tigers on Wednesday leading to a 68-36 win at Kelly High School.
"I'm very happy the girls came out and play hard with a positive attitude," Kelly coach Rod McQuerter said.
The Lady Hawks (7-11) opened the first quarter with a 16-5 advantage and went into the locker room with a 31-18 lead at the half. Kelly put little in doubt in the third quarter, outscoring Caruthersville 24-13 en route towards the win.
Kristen Powell scored 18 points to lead the Lady Hawks while Kayla Hicks added 14.
