CHARLESTON -- An Anniston man was arrested early this week for firing gunshots at moving vehicles in Mississippi County.

James Carl Coke, 31, of Anniston is charged with five counts of armed criminal action, three counts of second degree assault, discharge of a firearm at a motor vehicle, and two counts of property damage, according to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore.

The sheriff said the department received a call at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in reference to speeding vehicles in the Anniston area. While one deputy was en route to the area, another complaint about shots being fired was received. The deputy met with several victims, all who had shotgun damage to their vehicles.
