Coalition looking to reduce drug, alcohol use

SIKESTON -- According to Students Against Destructive Decisions, over 25 percent of people aged 12-20 drank alcohol last month, with over 6 percent of that same population using marijuana.

The Southeast Missouri Drug Free Communities Coalition is working to reduce those numbers. According to Jane Pfefferkorn, executive director of Mission Missouri in Sikeston, the main goal is "to change the environmental message that kids receive about using alcohol, etc."

One way Pfefferkorn suggested is through social media.
